
Jessica Kensky, R.N., M.S.N. and Patrick Downes, Psy.D.
Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH)
Jessica is a staff nurse in an outpatient oncology unit at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) in Boston, MA. She has been a nurse for over fourteen years and has extensive medical and surgical oncologic experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She is also directly involved in fundraising efforts for a nurse-run MGH based non-profit, Caring for a Care, which provides financial support for cancer patients and their families.
Jessica received her BSN from Johns Hopkins University and her MSN from the MGH Institute of Health Professions with a concentration in Acute Care Adult Gerontology. During her master’s program she completed a palliative care rotation which solidified her passion for quality end of life care for all patients but particularly those suffering from cancer. Jessica is currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice program at the MGH IHP and plans to graduate this December.

Patrick is a staff psychologist at the Home Base program at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). Home Base is the first and largest private sector mental health clinic for active duty military Service Members, Veterans, and their families. There, Patrick provides individual and group psychotherapy for PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance use, and other stress related disorders. He has a particular interest in not only treating PTSD but helping people find meaning and purpose after trauma. He also serves as an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School (HMS).
Patrick is a graduate of Boston College with a bachelor’s in human development and philosophy, and William James College with master’s and doctor of psychology degrees in clinical psychology. He completed his pre-doc training at Tufts Medical Center and post-doc fellowship at Home Base/MGH/HMS. In addition to his clinical work, Patrick serves on the boards of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and the Cotting School for children with special needs. He is also involved in efforts to promote accessibility and inclusion for people with disabilities.
